Yamabuki

Yamabuki takes its name from the Japanese word for the golden kerria flower, a yellow warm enough that the language gave it its own color.

Three beads fall along a fine chain. The top two are Czech cathedral-cut glass in honey gold, faceted with Picasso caps at each end, so the light breaks across them in pieces. At the bottom hangs an oval citrine, natural quartz in a soft golden yellow, its surface tumbled smooth and its interior threaded with the faint cloudiness that tells you it came out of the ground rather than a mold.

The chain is stainless steel, chosen because it holds its finish and does not react with skin the way plated base metals do. It stays bright through daily wear and will not leave a mark on you.

No two citrines carry the same veining, and the Picasso finish on the glass runs differently across every bead. This pair is the only one like it.

At 2 inches, Yamabuki is long enough to move with you and light enough to forget you are wearing. Yellow that reads warm rather than bright, and gold that disappears into it.

Care

Citrine is a natural stone and can fade with long sun exposure, so store these out of direct light. The stainless steel chain resists tarnish and holds up to daily wear. The gold-plated studs need more care. Remove before swimming, showering, or sleeping, and keep perfume and lotion off the posts. Wipe with a soft dry cloth only; no cleaners. Store in the pouch provided.
