Nagisa

Nagisa takes its name from the Japanese word for the water's edge, the shifting line where foam meets the shallows.

Four beads sit in a short stacked line. Two freshwater rice pearls in white hold a Czech glass nugget between them, its pale blue clear enough to see through and shaped irregularly rather than cut. Below them hangs a faceted Czech glass cube in the same blue, its flat planes catching light in a way the softer beads above do not.

Everything metal here is stainless steel. Posts, links, and head pins, all of it. There is no plating to wear thin, which makes this a good pair if most earrings give you trouble. Stainless steel contains a small amount of nickel bound into the alloy, but it releases very little and is well tolerated by most people with metal sensitivities.

Freshwater pearls are never identical. The two on yours have their own shapes and their own luster.

Care

Pearls are organic and the softest material here. Keep them away from perfume, hairspray, and lotion, and apply them last when you dress. The stainless steel resists tarnishing and requires little maintenance. Wipe with a soft dry cloth only; no cleaners of any kind. Remove before swimming or sleeping, and store in the pouch provided.
